[Encore] FW: Advice/Suggestions/Context for MOO

Happy New Year!
I would like to echo Truna's comments as well.
I think it would really open the creativity up to have the students build or
at least help to design the spaces.
>From a gameplay/roleplay perspective I would suggest taking a look at all
the different worlds created at Literary Worlds.

These are not user built per se but they have different approaches to using
roleplay and games to assist in the study of the Literary Works that are the
basis of the Worlds.
One idea might be to create a few "theme spaces" or larger scale spaces and
then allow the students to create interior spaces that match the theme and
examine different aspects of the issues.
You could also do a Virtual Conference where the students study and then
report on some aspect of the "World without the Internet".
The Computers and Writing Conference the Lennie hosted at TTU MOO would be a
good model.

Hmmm, seems like TTU doesn't work for Guests anymore...
The Conference Spaces are accessible on the WEB here:

Ciao

and a fine new year to all ...

nice plot here paul, my advice would actually be to let the kids build the
world themselves - that way they have to do the research, the thinking and
the imagining and then put it all into playable form ..

there was a fab project years ago which MOO space where school students had
to build whole planets in response to various physical parameters ... can't
remember its name but someone else might remember more about it and the way
it was set up ..
