Good Morning

Wow, has it ever been quiet on this list!

I hope that means everybody is enjoying their Summer (or Winter down under).

Speaking of the weather...

I've been running my weather system in Literary Worlds and thought I would
collect some data and see what it looks like over time.

You can see the results here:
http://www.encore-consortium.org/Barn/files/docs/Temp%20Data.htm

The first tab "Temps" is temperatures taken every hour over a 3 week period.
The temperatures are determined on the fly as there is only one recurring
task that runs once per day to change the weather. You can see the slight
shift that occurs each day when that task runs around midnight.

There is a typical diurnal tempearture variation as well as a smooth day to
day variation in maximum and minimum temperatures.

The second tab "Weather" has a table of the Weather data for each day over
the same time period, there is also a graph of the high and low temperatures
and one with the wind speed for each day.

During this 3 week period there was a 3 day gale with rain and high winds,
one calm day of fog and 3 days with rain and light winds and lots of calm
sunny summer days :-)

This data was collected by a recurring task in a "weather station" object
sitting outside the Tavern at Shelter Bay here:
http://brn227.brown.wmich.edu:7000/4333/

The flagpole object changes it's icon and description/picture depending on
the wind speed it is a "Weather Reactive Thing".

There is a daily weather report for this system on the "Notice to Seafarers"
board at the Jetty here:
http://brn227.brown.wmich.edu:7000/4330/

If anybody is interested in the details of how this works or would like to
play with the code please let me know.

Ciao
KJ
