Thanks Lennie
I applied for and got a free account with http://www.moocowpenguin.net/. The question is will I be able to utilize/change the ports that the web gui on encore requires?? Perhaps not!!!

Paul I hope you share any answers you are getting to this question. I know you can use different ports, but I'm not sure exactly how you set that. Also, please keep notes on your installation process and any snags you run into. I was curious what you meant by the term "free hosting?" Are you hosting this on a box you own or is it a professional hosting situation?

Simplifying and enabling hosting of enCore is THE major issue (I think) for enCore's future viability.

  Cheers,

  Lennie

    I found a free host.

Installed Lambda Moo and Encore 5 db.
When I started it, I used
    ......public_html/encore/bin$ ./moo encore.db 3333

It did it's thing, but came up with:

Oct 26 17:33:21: LISTEN: #0 now listening on port 7777
Oct 26 17:33:21: LISTEN: #32 now listening on port 7000

MY questions are, does it always open these ports?

Can I get it to use the port I was assigned (free hosting)?

Can I get the web interface to work on any other port than 7000?

    Cheers

    Paul
