[Encore] WinMOO Paswords on Unix?

Followup to my last post.

This is a very interesting thread from MOO Cows in October of 1999.
http://www.moo-cows.com/maillist/archives/message.cgi?254

If you read post #257 in this thread you'll notice the code for a revised
Crypt function in MOO code.

A following post mentions that he did this because he was moving his DB back
and forth between Unix and WinMOO and didn't want to worry about the
passwords breaking.

Has anyone done this recently?

Does it work?

It might be a good thing to incorporate in any test/class MOO environments.
Ciao
KJ

hello kevin ...

ah winmoo! some of my students are taking their work home and using winmoo
as a local site to play in ...

we have had interesting issues - one is the password thing ... how do you
change the passwords when winmoo doesn't recognise your wizard p/w?

and another oddity that is driving us a bit bonkers - a new room description
doesn't show exits and only the room owner can use the @exits command ...

any help greatly appreciated!

cheers, love truna
