The purpose of the list has been predominately related to setting up and administering enCore MOOs, with the occasional announcement of MOO activities on specific MOOs. Periodic releases of the various versions of enCore also result in a spurt of emails to the list, which may account for the fluctuations in quantity of emails from month to month. I think the best way for Katherine and anyone else interested in MOO stats to gather such data is to contact individual MOO administrators. To obtain contact info about specific enCore MOOs, folks may want to consult the enCore MOO Portfolio page (there are 50 enCore MOOs listed there): http://lingua.utdallas.edu/encore/moos.html We recently updated this page, but if you don't see your MOO listed and you wish to be on our portfolio, please send me the info about your MOO offlist. When you leave out the argument part of the url it works fine though. Encore version is 3.3.3. with the mootcan from 3.2. This is not only an on-the-fly sharing problem, but it seems to be a consistent feature. Pushing "argument-urls" through mootcan seems to be choked along the way. I have core objects which call themselves and other objects by using urls which include arguments, and I *need* it to be working asap. It worked fine in previous versions of mootcan, but there are changes now; the target argument and the "silent mode". I believe it's connected somehow, but I am afraid to work my way into the applet. Has somebody seen this and probably fixed it already? Our problem is that when a user is sleeping, it is sleeping in the users home. This means that over 700 people is sleeping the same place. This would not be a problem, if the home for the user was not the entrance point, when the user login. I see 2 ways to solve the problem 1. Create a script moving sleeping users to another root. This is not the nice solution as the housekeeper probably will move the user back to the home again. 2. Change the way the housekeeper works. This mean changing the script that the housekeeper run when it moves a user, but I have not been able to find that script, any help? Have I misunderstood something or does a user never disappear from the MOO when the user have logged in one time. The housekeeper should already deal with this matter, moving players to the $limbo when they disconnect and their home is the main entrance. First make sure the housekeeper is cleaning by typing "@forked". You should see a verb named "continuous" running. If you don't see it in the list, type: ;$housekeeper:continuous(); Now make sure that $player_start points to the object ID of the main entrance. Also check verbs on this room. There should be one called "enterfunc" along other ones that are not defined from the generic room (#3). If they are not present, this may be that you changed the starting point to another, standard room. Btw, if you want to hide the disconnected players in other rooms than the entry point, you can copy this special "enterfunc" on them - or modifiy the generic room's enterfunc if you want all rooms to behave like this (though I think it's great to see other persons sleeping in their personal room:) - Alexandre Borgia ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jacob Frĝlund" To: Sent: Wednesday, August 27, 2003 9:26 AM Subject: [encore] Using housekeeper to hide sleeping accounts | Hii, | | We are using the MOO in a website, where it is an integrated part, this | means that there exists, well over 700 accounts.
