The listserv is for the 2003 Computers and Writing Online Conference, and the particular session focusing on database-driven writing environments will run from 4/28-5/4. Although many of you don't teach writing with MOO, some of you do. Anyway, what we are talking about is an "online learning environment" that is database-driven, whether for English or some other subject. MOOs definitely are database-driven environments, and as one of the few object-oriented database environments I think possesses unique capabilities that canned environments like WebCT don't have. If any of you are interested in joining the discussion, you can register for the cw-online listserv at this URL: http://www.cw-online.org/attend/reg_form.shtml Lennie L. Hi, I am about to do some overdue chores with LC_MOO and K9MOO - both 2.0.4 enCore powered MOOs. At last look up that means 13 patches to get from 2.0.5 to version 3.3.3 Like mowing the lawns, you cannot keep putting it off! I tried to download all the patches from http://lingua.utdallas.edu/encore/ But the FTP server with all the patches seems to be down. Is there another site I can use or just wait until the server is back up? -Ken Eustace Charles Sturt University Wagga Wagga Australia From cynthiah@utdallas.edu Mon Apr 28 22:14:15 2003 Received: with ECARTIS (v1.0.0; list encore); Mon, 28 Apr 2003 22:14:15 -0500 Return-Path: X-Original-To: encore@nobel.utdallas.edu Delivered-To: encore@nobel.utdallas.edu Received: from smtp1.utdallas.edu (smtp1-pmn.utdallas.edu [192.168.1.5]) by nobel.utdallas.edu (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1D0EE7804 for ; Mon, 28 Apr 2003 22:14:15 -0500 (CDT) Received: from [10.0.1.3] (c66.169.102.159.ts46v-02.mhe2.ftwrth.tx.charter.com [66.169.102.159]) by smtp1.utdallas.edu (Postfix) with ESMTP id 84B38388C8A; Mon, 28 Apr 2003 22:14:14 -0500 (CDT) User-Agent: Microsoft-Entourage/10.1.1.2418 Date: Mon, 28 Apr 2003 22:14:12 -0500 Subject: [encore] Re: A patch in time saves nine From: Cynthia Haynes To: , encore Message-ID: In-Reply-To: <211F78EFD1D870409CC3E4158F4881DA04D6FB1C@xcww01.riv.csu.edu.au> Mime-version: 1.0 Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit X-archive-position: 830 X-ecartis-version: Ecartis v1.0.0 Sender: encore-bounce@utdallas.edu Errors-to: encore-bounce@utdallas.edu X-original-sender: cynthiah@utdallas.edu Precedence: bulk Reply-to: cynthiah@utdallas.edu List-help: List-unsubscribe: List-software: Ecartis version 1.0.0 List-ID: X-List-ID: X-list: encore Ken, Our server is experiencing some problems, and we're in the process of upgrading the operating system and memory.
